Looking for contemporary Asian style/Oriental furniture? Look no further than Greenteadesign.com – an online retailer of quality Asian inspired furniture. The guys at Greenteadesign have definitely done themselves well as they offer a large variety of furniture, all categorised smartly to ensure a pleasant user experience on their website. The ‘green’ from Greenteadesign doesn’t just refer to the oriental drink but also an environmental one – all their furniture is made from reclaimed wood salvaged from Korean farmhouses.

Categories are labeled after living spaces (e.g. kitchen, dining etc) and within each category, the furniture offerings are further subcategorised. What I really like about this site is that they display the furniture in ’suites’. Instead of just the usual standalone image of a piece of furniture against a white background, Greenteadesign displays images of suites/living spaces which house their offered furniture highlighted by a green spot. Clicking on the green spot provides further information about the particular piece of furniture.

I find this a particularly refreshing feature to have when shopping for furniture online because this technically brings an entire window display to your monitor itself.

The Katashi Vanity – This double bathroom vanity is an elegant piece in black lacquer and brass fittings. I like the elegant brass edgings that define the boundaries of the vanity yet give it a regal feel ala something that might’ve looked right at home in the dwellings of an ancient nobleman. Of course, the lack of intricate designs on this piece denotes a deliberate attempt to give it a contemporary look.
