Analyzing the Pros and Cons of Small Vanities

New bathroom vanities are all the rage in modern home renovation projects. This is not news to anyone. In fact, I’ve been saying it for months. A large double bath vanity in a master bathroom is a great way to facilitate daily hygienic tasks for you and a partner; an antique vanity will give your bathroom plenty of rustic, old-timey charm; and so on.

Outdoor Decorating with Fun Garden Fountains

Decorating your home interior is a crucial component of any successful home remodeling project. You invest a lot of time in the interior furnishings and decorations, and eventually, hopefully, the project concludes perfectly. But with all that commotion, did you think to take a look at your outdoor space as well? The backyard or patio is just as much a part of your home as any indoor room, so you might as well treat it accordingly. Add a little style and flair to your backyard with attractive outdoor fountains.

In previous posts, we’ve talked about the importance of a “minimalist aesthetic” in modern bathroom design. From the bathroom cabinets to the vessel sink, with modern vanities, simpler is certainly better. In this post, we will discuss modern material considerations, and why some materials (like glass) seem to be more popular than others.

Alternating Tread Stairs

20090702_treadstairs002

Alternating tread stairs have generally been made of steel and used in industrial areas. The really cool thing about these stairs is the fact that they’re great space savers and to a certain extent, somewhat of a plus aesthetically

These things don’t look easy to ascend or descend

On the contrary. These stairs are more user friendly than you think! Alternating tread stairs allow ascend and descend at a steeper angle hence has a greatly reduced footprint as opposed to traditional stairs. If you’ve got a really small area in which to build a set of stairs, the choices are either to use alternating tread stairs or spirals. The former is easier and speedier when it comes to ascending/descending and due to its straight line design, a lot more convenient when you need to shift large objects up or down the stairs.

Muji Shower Radio

You know how hotels always have speakers in the bathroom to allow its guests the privilege of listening to the radio? According to many, whilst its a really convenient feature to have, it is far too tedious to create a set-up like that of a hotel where the speakers are integrated into the ceiling and wired to the central AV system.

Muji has come up with a clever yet incognito solution – a splashproof shower radio that looks like a shampoo bottle. A pretty novel idea no doubt. The radio comes with a suction cup for the option to mount on the wall and the bottle cap is where the volume control dial is cleverly built into.
