How’sHouse is Featured in the Malay Mail!

20090519_malaymail001

The Malay Mail published a full page article in the Cyberspot section of yesterday’s publication (18May, pg14) featuring me in an interview on How’sHouse! When they approached me two weeks ago, I was excited at the prospect of having How’sHouse mentioned in the local newspapers. Little did I know that it would turn out to be a full page article!

The full article is now available online at the Malay Mail’s website, titled House that How Built.

The article starts off with the origins of How’sHouse and how and why it was created, then heads off to reveal some of my answers regarding my thoughts on the blogosphere. I also reveal how I believe I got my eye for design – from my dad. The most memorable incident for How’sHouse is also mentioned in the article (and I hope there’ll be many more positive memorable incidents to come). Head on over to the Malay Mail’s site to read the article – House that How Built

I’m glad and very thankful that How’sHouse is recognised in a very well received medium – the newspapers – and hope that the publicity generated from this will generate more loyal readers of the blog.

They requested for a photo and I gave them this:

Somehow they chose not to publish this but use the cartoonised image of me (a 21yr old me) from the site itself.  Would’ve been a nice touch as we deliberately took this picture for the article at our place – the How family @How’sHouse. I suppose the editor can’t possibly have been a Manchester United supporter :) . No biggie, I guess I can now add this picture in my ‘About Me‘ page.

You know, I hadn’t realised this until I was driving home from work yesterday, that the article was published exactly 1 year and 1 day to the day the first article was published on How’sHouse – a very nice coincidence indeed.

21 Beautiful Modern Stairs

Stairs are probably the most utilized elements in most homes. But it is also the element that is least focused on when it comes to renovating or furnishing a home – simply because there is usually no need to spend a large sum of money re-doing something that is already there, totally functional, and usually isn’t an eyesore.

People tend to focus more on furniture and art, protecting their collections carefully and covering them with Aviva insurance plans while neglecting stairs which could be a main focus in the interior design. Stairs are not only practical – with the right approach, they can be show-stopping.

Here’s a collection of some of the most beautiful modern stairs around should you be pondering a change in design for your stairs

WARNING: these modern designs may make you drool. keep a nappy/kerchief close by!
