Flora Frames
Time to get creative. You don’t always have to put photos in your frames. Here are several ideas from overseas designers:
Count on Gnr8 to produce excellent novel decor items. The factory planter comes in a set of 3 but at the steep price of USD79. I’m thinking i could use the ribba frame from IKEA (RM19.90), modify the base to fit soil and then grow wheatgrass from it.
Wheatgrass is an excellent choice as it’s both serves both a functional and aesthetic purpose. Whilst pleasing to the eye, it can be harvested and juiced to provide a single ‘energy boosting’ shot which would probably cost RM7 and upwards at juice bars.
Here’s some literature on how to grow wheatgrass
Also at around the US70+ range, this frame is build tough, with the option of having porcelain or slate finish. It can stand on its own if you choose not to hang it up on a wall. Again, I think using the ribba solution i mentioned earlier will provide a similar effect, perhaps not as classy. But think of the $$$ you end up saving (RM19.90 + plant + some creativity)
Modern Metal Vase, via Chiasso
Extremely simplistic, with classy nickel finish. I like this best of all the three options due to its price $38-58 and the elegant minimalistic design. Come to think of it, if i remember correctly, the ribba frames from IKEA also has a range with metal finish. They also sell artificial flowers there and if you’re not interested in having a frame vase with actual living plants, then going with artificial flowers would be the best option.
